NORclad became part of National Timber Group in 2023. The partnership has added significant timber cladding knowledge and expertise to NTG and created opportunities for NORclad to continue to grow and develop.
As a specialist manufacturer and supplier of bespoke fire-rated timber cladding, facades, curtain walling and other timber products, NORclad provide expert technical support to their customers nationally and across the NTG brands.
The NORclad team has a wealth of experience – from sales support and logistics to technical and engineering – co-ordinated from the head office in Bristol. Manufacturing and processing take place mostly at the NTG England factory at Mosborough, Sheffield.
NORclad’s range of sustainable responsibly purchased certified timber cladding products provide a wonderful contemporary set of solutions for finishing the façade or outside of any building.
To date their best-selling product is Brunnea cladding, which has a 30-year warranty against rot and fungal decay (when out of ground contact). The treatment process impregnates the wood – usually European redwood though other species such as larch and cedar can be used – with a blend of preservative and Brunnea pigment.
Recent additions to the products supplied by NORclad include Accoya® Color Grey, Shou Sugi Ban® charred cladding and Millboard® cladding.
As part of NTG, NORclad is now a main distributor for Accoya® products. Accoya® Color Grey is an ultra-high-performance cladding where the colour goes all the way from the surface to the core, providing a long-lasting premium look. It is durable and sustainable requiring minimal maintenance.
Shou Sugi Ban® charred cladding is crafted through a controlled application of the process of Yakisugi – a traditional Japanese timber charring technique. This alters the cell structure of the timber, naturally preserving and protecting it. It also minimises the need for maintenance, increasing the timber’s durability against fire, weathering, and pests.
NORclad is a Platinum Distributor for Millboard® composite cladding, which means customers can access the complete Millboard range of wood effect products.
Unique to NORclad in the UK is the Argento cladding range from France – glulam Douglas fir preservative treated to give a pre-weathered look.
NORclad is a member of NBS (National Building Specification) allowing architects to view, source and specify their products. Developments using NORclad products include commercial buildings, industrial premises, hospitals, schools and private homes.
